Aajoi is a news, articles, video, and community app. This page explains exactly what the Aajoi mobile app collects, why, and what it does not do with your data.
When you first install Aajoi, we generate a random device identifier so you can use the app immediately without creating an account. This identifier is stored on your device and sent to our server to create a guest account. If you later create a real account (email and password), that replaces the guest identity.
If you use the Services tab to find nearby hospitals, dispensaries, schools, or similar places, we ask for your location only at that point, and only with your permission. Location is used to show relevant results on the map and is not collected in the background.
If you use Chat, you can choose to let Aajoi check your phone contacts against people already using the app, so you can start a conversation. This only happens if you grant contacts permission, and only phone numbers already on your device are checked — we do not upload your full contact list.
Camera and photo/video access is used when you choose to attach an image or file — for example when submitting a post, a missing-person report, or a chat attachment. We only access what you explicitly select or capture.
Aajoi includes an optional on-device security scan for folders you choose. If you use it, we collect only file names, file paths within the folders you selected, file sizes, and a SHA-256 hash of each file — never the contents of your files. This is used to check for known threats and show you a scan report.
Messages you send through Aajoi Chat are stored on our server so the conversation can be delivered and displayed to both participants. You can delete your own messages, and you can block or report another user at any time from within a conversation.
Information you submit through the Missing Persons feature (name, details, and any photo you attach) is stored so it can be reviewed and, once approved, shown publicly to help with the search.
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete Profile at any time. This removes your personal data (location history, security scan history, synced files, saved/wishlist items) and disables your account permanently. Messages you sent are cleared, though the conversation itself remains visible to the other participant, the same way most messaging apps handle a deleted account. If you no longer have the app installed, see how to request deletion.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us through the contact options listed in the app.
